Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Security Officer (CSO), the Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for advancing our world-wide information protection and enterprise security programs which include security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, identity management, network security, standards, procedures, governance and compliance. This leader will align and prioritize our enterprise-wide information protection and security investments, with a focus on maturing and upleveling the security environment, mitigating risks, strengthening defenses, improving detection of malicious activities, and fostering a culture of security throughout the company. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and work with agility and efficiency to address security challenges and drive impactful change. Balancing the need for swift action, the CISO will also emphasize the importance of collecting relevant data and advising on risks to make informed decisions. The CISO will have the opportunity to affect and impact information and security cross-functionally and must possess a high degree of integrity, sound judgment, and thought leadership as a problem solver and integrator of people and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advance our enterprise-wide information protection to ensure the security, integrity, confidentiality, and availability 
  • of NetApp’s information assets.
  •  Identify, evaluate, and report on information protection and security risks across the enterprise.
  • The CISO will apply critical thinking skills to evaluate the organization's security needs and determine the 
  • appropriate actions to be taken. This includes prioritizing initiatives and focusing on the most critical risks.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and leaders to foster strong partnerships, determine acceptable levels of risk and 
  • risk mitigation solutions, and advise on best practices and compliance, balancing protection of the enterprise with the need 
  • to be operationally effective.
  • Ensure all enterprise staff, systems, processes and tools are aligned with NetApp’s information protection and 
  • enterprise security strategy to safeguard critical assets, mitigate risks, and enhance the organization's overall security 
  • posture.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of world class direct and indirect information and enterprise security subject 
  • matter experts to achieve goals and drive security advancement across the organization.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish up-to-date information security policies, standards, guidelines, and security education.
  • Embrace and leverage emerging technologies to enhance security capabilities and evolve the 
  • organization's security practices.
  • Maintain a balanced approach to risk management.
  • Execute with speed and efficiency

Key Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in the IT field in a senior security leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (Masters, JD or MBA, highly preferred).
  • Domain competency and knowledge of best practices in the field of enterprise security and assessment, risk 
  • management, infrastructure technologies, attack vectors and techniques attackers use.
  • Possess executive gravitas, exceptional relationship building skills, and effective communication skills.
