The Position
The Strategic Project Lead will be responsible for the activation and enablement of strategic priorities identified by Commercial Strategy & Marketing (CS&M) leadership. The individual in this role will be responsible for partnering with the Transformation Strategist within CS&M to enable team culture initiatives, will serve as the primary liaison with the Communications team, and will work across the CS&M department to pull through key strategic initiatives.
Relationships
Reports to CS&M Transformation Strategist. Collaborates with cross-functional teams within and outside of the CS&M organization to drive progress and achieve desired outcomes for key initiatives. Partners with People & Organization (P&O) stakeholders as well as the Transformation Strategist to execute change management activities. Closely collaborates with Communications function to align and support development of internal and external communications for CS&M. Collaborates closely with Human Resources/People and Organization (P&O) to support effective pull-through of P&O-driven initiatives across the CS&M organization. Assumes full project delivery responsibility for strategic projects, including large-scale and medium/high complexity projects as needed.
Essential Functions
- Strategic Project Execution: Drives timely and effective execution of business initiatives into the function ensuring team members have an integrated experience and that tactics are in alignment with the culture of the function, the P&O department and broader NNI. Takes full project ownership and successfully manages complex projects including time and issue handling, even if the project does not run as originally intended. Drives and contributes to department meetings and other internal Novo Nordisk wide activities
- Initiative Alignment: Assist in pulling through initiatives across the department. Ensure consistent communication and implementation of initiatives to drive departmental cohesion and support effective change management, in close collaboration with P&O and other cross-functional colleagues as appropriate
- Strategic Activation: Supports execution of activities intended to drive adoption of new cross-functional mindsets, behaviors, and ways of working to drive organizational change in support of overall transformation efforts
- Communications Strategy: Serves as primary point of contact with the Communications function in the development and implementation of CS&M leadership communications. Works with cross-functional teams to align messaging when needed
- Department Culture and Engagement Programs: In alignment with P&O department, co-creates and executes strategic plan for engagements within the CS&M organization to foster a positive and inclusive department culture. Align and activate culture network across the department to support culture-building efforts
Physical Requirements
Approximately 0-20% overnight travel.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of total relevant experience, across marketing, communications, change management, organizational change, strategic planning or related functions
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required, experience in communications development preferred
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across a variety of stakeholders
- Passion to drive culture and behavioral change
- Proven experience in leading without authority
