Project Manager

What does a successful Project Manager do at Fiserv? 

The Project Manager ensures successful project delivery with a focus on large-scale initiatives, involving proactive project planning, governance establishment, and upfront definition of success criteria. The role requires effective communication with stakeholders, a deep understanding of organizational dynamics, and management of third-party relationships to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project delivery of larger scale projects with high complexity and risk, impacting multiple business units and functional areas. 

  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to ensure successful project startup and completion, working under minimal supervision with oversight from the Project Management Office management team. 

  • Exhibit proactive behavior in project planning, including defining project scope, creating and maintaining timelines, identifying and communicating dependencies, and implementing mechanisms for ongoing project control. 

  • Define project governance, outlining roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and an escalation path. 

  • Proactively communicate project progress to keep internal and external stakeholders engaged, aligned, and informed, while managing third-party relationships to ensure implementation projects stay on schedule and within budget. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with project team members and influence internal/external stakeholders for successful program delivery. 

  • Understand and address project stakeholder needs, applying project management concepts to achieve business objectives. 

  • Analyze situations, lead the team in defining executable plans, and ensure alignment on project goals and objectives. 

  • Demonstrate accountability and commitment by meeting project deadlines, proactively mitigating risks, and responding effectively to new information. Additionally, possess strong business acumen, gather and analyze information to improve client satisfaction, and connect projects to broader company goals. 

What you will need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience is required. 

  • PMP certification is preferred, or the candidate should be willing to work toward attaining PMP certification from PMI. 

  • Minimum of five years of previous project management and/or relevant consulting experience, with knowledge of project management processes, methodologies, and lifecycles. 

  • Experience in a client-facing role, preferably in banking, financial services, and/or software industries, with a proven ability to drive small to medium-sized projects within an organization. Proficiency with Project Management tools is essential. 

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
