About the Role

The Sr. Specialist, Chemicals Procurement provides advanced sourcing, contracting, analytics, and supplier management support to Category Managers while independently managing low-to-medium complexity sourcing initiatives and supplier relationships. This role acts as a subject matter expert for procurement processes, systems, and category administration.

Key responsibilities: Sr. Specialist, Chemicals Procurement

  • Strategic Sourcing Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for raw materials, process chemicals, and formulation ingredients within volatile commodity markets.
  • Procurement Analysis: Conduct spend analysis and supplier benchmarking, develop cost models and sourcing recommendations, and prepare reports, presentations, and business cases.
  • Contract Administration: Prepare contracts, amendments, and supporting documentation; coordinate reviews with Legal, Finance, and key stakeholders; and monitor contract compliance and expiration dates.
  • Supplier Coordination: Manage day-to-day supplier communication, track supplier performance metrics, and support supplier onboarding and issue resolution.
  • Project & Initiative Support: Support capital projects and service procurements, coordinate sourcing activities and project timelines, and track procurement deliverables and savings initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, support data management and procurement systems, and assist with audits and compliance reviews.

Required and Preferred Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (required)
  • CPSM, CPSD, C.P.M., or equivalent certification (preferred)
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, or analytics certification (preferred)
  • Lean or Six Sigma Yellow Belt (preferred)

Required and Preferred Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of procurement experience (required)
  • Experience supporting sourcing events and contract administration
  • Solid knowledge of chemical commodities and market price drivers.
  • Understanding of chemical handling safety, REACH/TSCA compliance, and related regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with spend analysis and reporting
  • Experience supporting designated categories (preferred)
  • ERP system experience (SAP preferred)
  • Supplier performance management experience (preferred)
