Job Description

The NBCUniversal Studio Services team is looking for a collaborative, results-driven, creative, and self-motivated CNC Router Operator & Sign Shop Technician to join our Sign Shop operation in Doraville, GA. You will play a crucial role in the production of top-notch signage, graphics, and fabrication projects. You will operate CNC routers and laser cutters, perform digital printing, vinyl cutting, and handle various sign work. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering exceptional results will be essential to our success.

In this role you will be an essential part of building a successful production support business focused on customer service and creativity.      

What You’ll Do...

CNC Router and Laser Cutting Operation:

• Set up and operate CNC routers and laser cutters to cut, shape, and engrave various materials, including wood, plastic, acrylic, and metal.
• Program and adjust machine settings for precise and efficient production.
• Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Maintain equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
• Familiarity with EnRoute software and Epilog Laser Cutters is a plus. 2D and some 3D applications are helpful.

Digital Printing and Vinyl Cutting:

• Prepare digital files for printing, ensuring color accuracy and print quality.
• Operate large-format digital printers and vinyl cutters.
• Perform vinyl cutting and weeding for signage and graphics projects.
• Manage print and cut queues to meet production deadlines.
• Familiarity with ONYX and VersaWorks RIP software is a plus.

Sign Production and Assembly:

• Assist in the assembly and fabrication of signs, displays, and custom projects.
• Apply vinyl graphics and lettering to various surfaces.
• Perform basic sign-making tasks, including mounting, lamination, painting, and finishing.
• Operate a large-format roll laminator for mounting, sheeting and taping.
• Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and client specifications.

Material Handling and Inventory Management:

• Maintain an organized inventory of materials and supplies.
• Properly handle and store materials to prevent damage or waste.
• Help to reorder supplies as needed.

Quality Control and Inspection:

• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet the highest standards.
• Identify and address any defects, inconsistencies, or imperfections.
• Maintain detailed records of production and quality control processes.
