The 12-bed 3 East Medical/Surgical Unit provides medical services for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, such as heart failure, COPD, infections, GI bleeds and more. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. 

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

• Educate patients and their families.   

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing   

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)   

• One year of current Acute Care RN experience OR military RN experience  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
