The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations across Wilber’s monument operations. The role includes creating a Lean operating model and developing a culture and team that ensures the business operates smoothly. They will be responsible for getting the resources in place, connecting employees to the right people within Wilbert, and arranging common actions between the business units. Sequentially, the Director of Operations will work with senior leadership to establish a centralized manufacturing strategy (“super plants”) that makes sense for the business. The job holder will report directly to the Vice President of Operations.Functional head overseeing the planning and directing of the operation, maintenance, and administration of multiple plants. Recommends plant improvements and modifications.

Position Overivew:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations across Wilber’s monument operations. The role includes creating a Lean operating model and developing a culture and team that ensures the business operates smoothly. They will be responsible for getting the resources in place, connecting employees to the right people within Wilbert, and arranging common actions between the business units. Sequentially, the Director of Operations will work with senior leadership to establish a centralized manufacturing strategy (“super plants”) that makes sense for the business. The job holder will report directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations for the monument business line.
- Responsible for regional budget preparation, forecasting, growth projections, A/R, A/P, manpower and equipment utilization, capacity planning, scheduling and preventive maintenance programs within the region.
- Lead Lean manufacturing initiatives across monument operations, including 5S, visual management, standard work, daily management systems, and continuous improvement activities.
- Drive productivity, waste reduction, throughput improvement, and labor efficiency initiatives.
- Facilitate problem-solving and root-cause analysis to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Establish and Coordinate Operating Policies for the Region that are following Wilbert corporate policies, procedures and direction.
- Establish and monitor quality standards, customer complaint resolution processes, rework metrics, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Directly or through subordinates confer with vendors to arrange for the purchase of equipment and materials, evaluating the products according to specification and quality standards.
- Develop and monitor operational KPIs including safety, quality, labor productivity, capacity utilization, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and customer service performance.
- Lead regular business reviews to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Lead monument manufacturing capacity planning efforts to support growth, service levels, and operational efficiency.
