Summary
The Medical Staff Coordinator position supports the physician governance committee with agenda prep, follow up items, documentation of minutes, flow and facilitation of meetings within medical staff structure.Job Description
Position Description
- Provide administrative and clerical support to medical staff with minimal supervision.
- Support locum and travel-type physicians
- Interpret medical staff bylaws and communicate policy/procedure changes.
- Coordinate and plan Medical Staff Committees and events with physician leadership and clinical teams.
- Document medical staff meetings in compliance with medical/legal and peer review standards.
- May assist with credentialing, including:
- Managing provider files (online and paper)
- Verifying credentials from primary sources
- Maintaining current documentation
- Communicating key updates and findings as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- MUST have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of medical staff services
- Experience with credentialing
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Familiarity with medical/legal terminology
- Experience supporting medical staff or physician leadership
Qualifications
Associates degree required in related field -OR- three year's of relevant work experience.
Microsoft Office Certification preferred
