JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Law (PSL) and the School of International Affairs (SIA) in University Park, Pennsylvania, are seeking a highly motivated and customer service-driven Information Technology Support Specialist to join our dynamic Instructional and Information Technology team. This pivotal role provides comprehensive tier 1 and 2 technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of PSL/SIA through multiple channels, including walk-in assistance, phone support, and online request management. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in an on-site work environment and is passionate about providing exceptional IT solutions.
Responsibilities Include:
Support users in person, remotely, and over the phone and schedule delivery/pick-up of items that need to be serviced.
Perform setup and installation of hardware and software, including laptops, desktops, docking stations, printers, etc. Train and assist end users on the use of software such as Teams, OneDrive, and the 0365 suite. Work with Sysadmin on more complex issues such as single sign-on, AD group membership, and permissions.
Use Big Fix to push out software programs and software “fixes".
Diagnose IT issues, implement fixes if applicable, or escalate and prioritize. Submit requests, update, and close applicable ServiceNow tickets.
Assist other staff with the setup of equipment.
Provide support for classroom/conference rooms, Zoom, and Teams to facilitate in-person, online, and hybrid events and classes. Assist A-V and Web teams with basic tasks.
Perform administrative tasks such as disbursement forms, ordering and maintaining IT supplies, and coordinating pickups of recycled batteries, light bulbs, printer cartridges, printer drums, and unused hard drives.
