Shift Overview:

  • Monday - Thursday, four 9-hour days 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday 6:30am-10:30am

The Production Maintenance Technician II will conduct strong working knowledge of body and chassis operations, controls, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, start-up, and troubleshooting and be able to demonstrate strong safety leadership skills, follow safe work practices and work independently.

YOUR IMPACT:  

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Test, check and make adjustments to chassis and body control systems, both manually and with OEM software.

  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership skills and follow safe work practices.

  • Work closely with OEM’s to ensure proper programming and that OEM specs are met.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and service employees to ensure timely diagnosis of issue.

  • Coordinate installation, testing and registration of customer supplied items such as Trimble GPS systems.

  • Respond to unplanned / emergency truck down situations and provide technical support to the field.

  • Work with engineering in implementing and testing new controls technologies.

  • Follow safety procedures and good manufacturing practices.

  • Work with ME & IE when installing new options to create work instructions.

  • Resolve repetitive defects through investigation and corrective action.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in a heavy-duty truck/manufacturing environment or an evaluated equivalent.

  • Successful passing of a welding test with a score of 70 or higher.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Certification or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and/or related technical course.

  • Strong knowledge of OEM software, controls, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and trouble shooting.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of hand tools.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand both electrical and hydraulic schematics.

  • Experience including comprehensive knowledge in the following areas:

    • Electrical and Hydraulic schematics.

    • Able to utilize OEM software.

    • PLC /software & hardware.

    • Pneumatics & Hydraulics.

    • Mechanical systems.

    • Assist with production and quality items.

    • System analysis & troubleshooting.

    • Ability to work independently.
