Be You.
At Duke, we celebrate individuality and the unique perspectives that each member of our community brings. As the Project Coordinator, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, mission‑driven team dedicated to supporting early childhood professionals across North Carolina through trauma‑informed practices, organizational wellness, and relationship‑centered coaching.
Be Bold.
The Duke Center for Child & Family Policy is committed to translating research into effective policy and practice that strengthens families and improves outcomes for children. As part of this mission, the Center leads the Infant‑Toddler Trauma‑Informed Care (ITTI Care) project, which equips early childhood coaches, child care administrators, and frontline professionals with tools to support young children—especially those under age 3—through trauma‑informed, resilience‑building approaches.
This position plays a central role in adapting and implementing the ITTI Care model with a focus on supporting child care directors and the coaches who work with them. Using a “coach‑the‑coach” model, you will help early childhood technical assistants, mentors, consultants, and practicum supervisors integrate trauma‑informed concepts into their day‑to‑day work. You’ll also contribute to piloting statewide child care workforce standards designed to promote workday wellness and organizational resilience across North Carolina.
This role blends training, coaching, facilitation, data‑informed improvement, and statewide systems engagement. The position may be based remotely or at the Durham office and includes travel across the state for training delivery, site visits, and partnership building.
