We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and clinically strong Registered Nurses to join our growing team in Williamson, West Virginia. This position plays a critical role in supporting patients through detoxification, stabilization, residential treatment, and ongoing recovery while working alongside an interdisciplinary team dedicated to healing and long-term success.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care, medication administration, patient assessments, and clinical support for individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. As an essential member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the Registered Nurse ensures safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the recovery journey.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Assessment
- Conduct nursing assessments and evaluate patient needs upon admission and throughout treatment.
- Complete individualized nursing care plans and monitor patient progress.
- Assess withdrawal symptoms and respond appropriately to medical concerns.
- Participate in medical discharge planning and continuity of care efforts.
- Provide direct nursing interventions while maintaining a calm and professional presence.
Medication Management
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacy and medical providers to ensure medication accuracy.
- Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
- Support Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) protocols and patient education.
Collaboration & Treatment Planning
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Collaborate with providers, therapists, case managers, and recovery support staff.
- Contribute to treatment planning that addresses medical, behavioral health, and recovery needs.
- Coordinate care with hospitals, external providers, and family members when appropriate.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements, Joint Commission standards, and organizational policies.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts.
- Utilize evidence-based nursing practices and professional standards.
Safety & Patient Support
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
- Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.
- Support patients through detoxification, stabilization, and recovery services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in West Virginia or compact state eligibility.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to pass background screening and drug screening.
- Strong assessment, communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or advanced nursing degree.
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, psychiatric nursing, detoxification, or behavioral health settings.
- Experience with trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders.
- Experience supporting medical withdrawal management and recovery-focused treatment.
