THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a mid to senior-level Machine Learning Engineer to join our Machine Learning team. In this exciting role, you will utilize Betterview’s established machine learning workflow to help accelerate Betterview’s growth. As the perfect candidate, you will have experience in image recognition algorithms using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other deep learning frameworks.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Leading efforts to build and improve algorithms for identifying objects of interest in overhead imagery.
• Fusing data from other data sources, such as lidar, oblique imagery, or natural language data to analyze an image.
• Working in a collaborative environment with the rest of the core ML team and data science and engineering teams.
• Working in Python using a stack that consists of TensorFlow/PyTorch, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, RabbitMQ, and Kubernetes.
• From time-to-time, writing blog posts or other content that helps Betterview remain a thought leader in the InsurTech space.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR COMPANY

• 3+ years of experience in a statistical/math/computer science field.
• Experience with Python and TensorFlow or PyTorch a must.
• Experience performing image analysis is strongly preferred.
• Experience within the field of insurance underwriting is a bonus, but not necessary.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

Betterview is committed to administering a fair, equitable, and inclusive interview and offer process that is transparent and free of discrimination and in compliance with federal and state laws. The base salary range associated with this position is $100,000 to $150,000 and has been determined through the use of external data sources that provide current market pay rates. The base salary range is considered a national average and is determined by the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role and does not include our comprehensive benefits described below. When an offer is presented, compensation will be commensurate with an individual’s background, experience, and location; therefore, the range associated with this position could vary. Offers of employment for this position will include base salary, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
