Position: Front End Loader Operator
Reports to: Production Superintendent
Schedule: Rotating
Pay: $23/hour+

Summary:
The material handler will work in two different parts of the plant, using a front end loader to move raw materials or clinker to specified locations.
What you’ll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Keep clinker and other materials in the barn separated and contained.
- Checks all equipment in the work area.
- Keeps all materials, coal, clinker, and other materials full.
- Unplug the feeder and hoppers and clear the sticking gate.
- Maintains clinker bin and fuel unloading area and makes sure it stays clean
- Handles problems as they arise
- Assists with kiln repairs during shutdowns
- Unloads materials including coal, iron ore, sand, coke, liquid fuels, and other materials that arrive at the plant by rail or truck
- Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- High school graduation or equivalent is required
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Willingness to learn, training will be provided
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy mobile equipment preferred
- Understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Must be a self-starter able to work with little or no supervision
- Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner
- Maintain a positive work attitude
- Ability to perform minor maintenance
- Must have good attendance
- Ability to reason through operational issues as they arise and resolve them or communicate with others
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Life up to 50 pounds. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
