Job Description
Guardant’s real-world data division (INFORM) organizes, enriches and applies the genomics data derived from clinical testing, as well as commercializing those applications in life sciences. The database also supports real-world studies run by medical affairs, clinical development and outcomes & evidence (MADCOE), special projects such as biomarker discovery, IP generation and, in the future, DaaS for clinical institutions. The enrichment involves integration with clinic-genomics data (such as claims and EMRs). The INFORM team delivers through many interfaces including: RWE & Global Scientific Affairs, Biopharma, Commercial, finance, legal, IT and Infrastructure, and has started to operate on a global scale. The RWD group is therefore in need of a head of operations to enable commercial scale-up as well as effective cross-functional delivery.
The primary role of Operations Manager is to support the infrastructure, processes and partnerships required to win and deliver INFORM business, efficiently working cross-functionally across the organization to deliver high-quality services to clients. Specifically, the Manager will support the business surveillance and reporting for key internal processes and operations and perform operational activities required for external partnerships and product development. Additionally, the individual will manage the clinical trial referrals/outreach service (Guardant CONNECT) and commercial Alerts programs, working with internal teams and biopharma partners to ensure smooth operations of the programs.
The role will report directly to the INFORM Director of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial analysis and operational execution of partnership and in-licensing options
- Support improving all operations underpinning the INFORM business, helping to track KPIs and dashboard to ensure optimal business performance
- Track progress against financial forecasts, delivery against client engagements, and special projects
- Conduct competitive and business intelligence for RWD
- Support in developing and executing marketing and tactical plans for key external events and off-sites
- Manage the clinical trial referrals outreach service (CONNECT), coordinating internally and externally with biopharma partners to ensure seamless program operations
- Manage the commercial Alerts program, coordinating internally and externally with biopharma and other partners to ensure seamless program operations
- Work with key internal stakeholder groups: Legal, Infrastructure, RWE & Analytics, Marketing, Biopharma Account Management, Global Scientific Affairs, Finance, Product, Portal
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant technology, data, healthcare and/or consulting and have a passion for using data and technology to advance science and benefit patients
- Understanding of biopharma drug development from discovery through to commercialization
- Interest in the oncology RWD business and operations
- Experience in revenue forecasting and performance tracking
- Knowledge and ideally experience of oncology clinical trial operations (specifically for biomarker-informed clinical trials)
- Passion and aptitude for creative problem-solving, taking a “hands on” approach in doing the necessary work to drive success
- Strong written and oral communications skills, and comfortable in client-facing roles
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
- Entrepreneurial, self-starting, and proactive, but also work with the broader team to bring the best of INFORM to market
