Job Description:

The Business Insights Specialist will serve in an individual contributor role and is responsible for understanding all metrics within US Fraud Management, generating multifaceted insights, and providing strategic direction related to metrics.  This will include analysis of existing metrics and recommendation of new metrics to generate relevant analytical insights for business issues and identify opportunities to drive business growth and value.  

The Business Insights Specialist will be required to understand how US Fraud Management within TD compares to the industry.  This role works in partnership with business leaders across the US Fraud Management and broader Financial Crimes Management organization to present or generate appropriate insights including the delivery of supporting collateral and/or presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

The Business Insights Specialist will have demonstrated experience and self motivation as a team player who will facilitate the creation of high-impact presentations for both internal and external audiences and provide centralized consolidation to fulfill routine and ad hoc requirements by generating multifaceted insights and understanding primarily through written materials.

The Business Insights Specialist will use their previous business partnering skills, strong communication (both written and verbal), and personal courage to ask tough questions of teammates and leaders.

This is Remote career opportunity, however, maybe required to travel once a quarter as needed.

Monday-Friday - Standard Business Hours

Depth & Scope:

  • Works autonomously and accountable for acting as a lead within a specialized business management function and may provide work direction to others

  • Provides seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members

  • Scope of role may have enterprise impact

  • Focuses on short to medium - term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)

  • Undertakes and completes a variety of complex projects and initiatives requiring specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes within own area of expertise

  • Oversees and/or independently performs tasks from end-to-end

  • May interact with any hierarchy level up to executive leaders and external vendors

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science) Graduate's degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or;

  • 5+ year of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; Advanced Excel and PPT

  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to develop effective relationships with external and internal business partners  

  • Advanced ability/experience with understanding the detailed underlying data of metrics

  • Experience in fraud management

  • Experience with preparing Executive level material

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Leads on the interpretation of complex business issues, generates multifaceted insights and identifies opportunities to help drive business growth or address business/enterprise needs
