Kern River Transitional Care is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Business Office Assistant (BOA) to join our team. If you have experience in long-term care billing and are passionate about ensuring accuracy in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, submit, and follow up on claims to Medi-Cal and Managed Medi-Cal plans for long-term care room and board

• Submit TARs (Treatment Authorization Requests) to appropriate payers

• Post payments accurately from insurance companies and patients

• Investigate and appeal denied or rejected claims to maximize revenue

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits

• Ensure billing compliance with healthcare regulations and payer policies

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date billing records

• Communicate professionally with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams

• Generate billing and collection reports to support financial performance

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes

• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing for SNFs

• Skilled in EHR billing systems and maintaining accurate documentation

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and organization

• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively

• Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) preferred
