JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State is currently seeking a Constituent Programming and Events Officer to support the Division of Development and Alumni Relations in the Corporate Engagement Center. The Corporate Engagement Center serves as a central hub, connecting industry partners with the University’s vast resources to foster mutually beneficial relationships. Established in 2019, the center focuses on facilitating collaborations in research, philanthropy, executive programming, and talent recruitment. By aligning corporate objectives with Penn State’s mission, the center maximizes the benefits of strategically aligned university-industry partnerships. The center operates as a joint initiative between the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, working across all facets of the university to create lasting and impactful partnerships.
Position Overview:
The Constituent Programming and Events Officer plays a critical role in supporting corporate fundraising, relationship management, and reporting functions. This position is responsible for developing reports and documentation for corporate proposals (research and philanthropy), managing recurring programs, and tracking unit success metrics. The role also involves collaborating with staff, faculty, and leadership across the university to assist in implementing corporate engagement initiatives. This position reports to Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR) and is primarily focused on activities that support and advance philanthropic initiatives. However, this position will also collaborate closely with research administration and work extensively with various databases to support holistic corporate engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data from various platforms to create briefing documents, invoices, memos, and reports.
- Coordinate, track, and report on unit fundraising and university campaign goals.
- Review and process Office of Sponsored Programs gifts for data integrity.
- Develop prospecting strategies and coordinate outreach to potential corporate partners.
- Support directors in the cultivation and stewardship of corporate relationships through strategic outreach and impact reporting.
- Coordinate nominations and submissions for annual awards and competitions.
- Collaborate with the President’s Office and DDAR on football suite invitations for corporate guests.
- Supervise the Administrative Assistant, providing guidance and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Serve as a backup for the Administrative Assistant, handling unit scheduling, reconciliation, and other tasks as needed.
