About the role

Cleaver Brooks is looking for an Accounts Receivable Credit Analyst to join our team in Thomasville, GA. The AR Credit Analyst is responsible for implementing Corporate Policy and Procedures designed to insure sound credit control and accounts receivable management.

Job Location: Thomasville, GA

Essential functions:

  • Analyze counterparty credit risk daily for compliance and reporting.
  • Manage credit risk through negotiation of credit support agreements and margining with counterpartie
  • Design, develop and implement new processes in an effort to more fully automate controls and reporting
  • Provide credit information to other departments and assist in cross-department projects, including commercial transactions
  • Analyze customer financial condition and authorize customer credit lines
  • Minimize bad debt risk, maximize accounts receivable collections
  • Assist with order management
  • Reconcile customer statements/billings
  • Communicate credit department and company payment policies
  • Participate in process improvement projects, and support other management directives as prescribed
  • Within the framework of established terms of sale maintain a turnover period of accounts receivable consistent with the turnover rate established by management
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Report cash collections and forecasts
  • Approve credit on all agent requests for buy-resell
  • Establish a routine follow-up procedure for collection of accounts.
  • Schedules periodic meetings with the Regional Managers to discuss problems, make recommendations to improve the past due condition of the rep portfolio, and insure a thorough understanding of Credit Policy.
  • Apply Cash to Packaged Boiler and Aftermarket Accounts
  • Participate in major department projects and take an active role in cross-functional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives
  • Provide back-up support to the Billing Department
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Basic Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting (or similar) or equivalent industry experience.

Experience: 

  • Strong spreadsheet and advanced Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups)
  • 5 years of credit & collections experience is preferred
  • Understanding of commodity markets (e.g., options, swaps).
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Assertive and able to negotiate with counterparties and interface with senior management
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong troubleshooter and ability to solve unstructured problems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is ideal, but not required
