Position Summary:

The Senior Research Associate is a member of the Platform Group at FL85 and will support laboratory research activities towards development of novel technologies enabling next generation genomic medicines. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical and equipment needs in a lab as well as significant hands-on experience with standard and advanced molecular and cell biology techniques. They will work independently and as part of a collaborative team. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Culture cells across a variety of cell lines, plate formats and media conditions within specifications to support our internal Research and Development activities.
• Supply and maintain working and active cell banks 
• Isolation of cells (e.g. PBMCs) from human-derived primary samples, including blood. 
• Direct experience in cellular assay development with proficiency in high-content screening, image analysis, and flow cytometry using primary cultures and cell lines.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques and common assays (e.g., qPCR, SDS-PAGE/western blotting, plate-based reporter assays, transfection, etc.)
• Analyzing and accurately documenting assay results in an electronic lab notebook or other technical reporting format

Basic Qualifications:

• M.S. or B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong molecular biology experimental skills, including experience executing protocols, troubleshooting assays, and carrying out literature searches for technology evaluation and selection
• Experience with tissue culture, transfections, biochemical assays, nucleic acid, and protein characterization
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner
• Comfortable delivering against challenging commitments
