About the role

Position Overview

Green Bay Packaging, Folding Carton Division, is seeking an Accounting Intern to be an integral part of our Accounting team. The Accounting Intern will provide overall support to the Accounting Department, assisting with a wide range of accounting processes, including inventory management, reconciling data between divisional and corporate systems, and entering accounts payable data.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory activity to ensure inventory levels are accurate, performing physical inventory counts on a routine basis. 
  • Assist with the compilation and processing of vendor quality claim documentation. 
  • Monitor machine run times and prepare analysis for production teams to evaluate plant performance. 
  • Assist with the processing of vendor invoices through the compilation and review of purchase-related documents, and entering transactions into the divisional financial system once approved.   
  • Analyze production job closeouts in comparison to estimates to identify, investigate, and explain variances. 
  • Complete special projects aligned with divisional objectives. 
  • Track and report activities related to capital projects. 
  • Prepare routine reports for the various departments throughout the division. 
  • Perform reconciliations of divisional data to corporate records. 
  • Maintain documentation of business processes. 
  • Support other departments, such as quality and process improvement, as needed. 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, or a related field 
  • Available to work full-time during the summer 
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
