***This is a full time, benefits eligible grant funded position.  Current funding is through approx. June 2028.***

Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the Health Care by Food initiative. This national initiative will provide the large-scale clinical evidence required to help identify, support, and implement the most viable food Is medicine strategies by ensuring they are included in covered benefits through public and private insurance. This position will work with the food is medicine team to coordinate and support the functional needs and activities of the initiative. Must have the ability to work in a cross-functional matrix team environment and possess high level of customer service skills. Will manage department’s resource organization, reports, and other program-related materials. The Program Coordinator position reports to the Executive Director of Health Care by Food but will work very closely with the food is medicine Scientific Lead and Chief Clinical Science Officer. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of Health Care by Food program administration including budgets, contracts, tracking and monitoring progress, and collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare operational reports and other assessment documents to monitor progress towards goals and objectives
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to organize and manage projects and events
  • Management of department calendar and inbox
  • Provide support in tracking department expenditures
  • Ability to provide meeting support to internal food is medicine team and external volunteer groups, to include scheduling, preparation of materials, and follow-up actions

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in program/project coordination
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and detail-orientation
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated customer service skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or related area
  • Experience working in fast paced, large cross-functional team environments
  • Experience providing excellent administrative support and program coordination
  • Ability to travel up to 25% with some overnight stay
