Looking for self-motivated candidates who enjoy collaborating in a fast-paced environment. As a member of the Chromatography team, you will be part of the multidisciplinary Screening and Analytics department (SCAN) and will work with team members from across R&D. Within Chromatography you will contribute to developing, operationalizing, and running high-throughput assays of fermentation broth.
You are curious and ask relevant questions in the process of finding a suitable solution. You enjoy problem solving and take initiative to optimize and improve existing processes. You thrive working with others, are resourceful, and are eager to share your knowledge. Prior lab experience is required.
The annual pay range for this role is $92500 to $131000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis, and will vary based on the candidate’s skills, depth of experience and specific work location. Responsibilities:
- Work hands-on using GC, LC, IC, and LC-MS systems – including replacement of consumables, mobile phase/eluent preparation as well as set-up or modification of equipment.
- Troubleshoot instrument or run failures and implement or suggest corrective actions.
- Develop sample preparation workflows and assist or lead method development.
- Implement newly developed assays into an operational setting.
- Prepare, run, and process routine samples with tight turnaround times.
- Answer data related questions and explain results to customers as needed.
- Perform laboratory work in a safe and effective manner.
- Contribute to the overall scientific knowledge and skill level of the group through collaborating, teaching, and interacting with group members at all levels.
- Share data and findings by writing technical notes and SOPs and by giving presentations to internal audiences.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry/Biology/Statistics/Engineering or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated ability to use, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments such as GC, HPLC/UPLC, IC, and LC-MS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with automated sample preparation.
- Experience with protein quantitation, proteolytic digestion protocols, and related workflows.
- Experience using statistical packages, data visualization tools, and scripting languages for data manipulation, analysis, and process improvement.
- Industrial laboratory experience.
- Attention to detail and record keeping skills.
- Scientific writing and presentation skills for the preparation of technical reports, SOPs, and presentations.
- Analytical thinking skills, creativity, resourcefulness, good intuition for problem solving.
- Experience with chromatography or mass spectrometry software.
- Ability to regularly work weekends and overtime as needed.
