Job functions Include but are not limited to:
- Conducts research and prototyping in 3 primary areas:
- Autonomous Driving
- Connected Mobility Services
- Human-Machine Interface
- Creates key technologies in the fields of autonomous driving, connected mobility services, and/or human machine interface. Works with some or all of the following:
- Image sensing & processing, Environment recognition , Decision making, Intelligent system architecture, Machine learning, Intelligent vehicle control, Vehicle system integration, Big data collection & storage, Big data analytics, Cloud service systems, Wireless communications, Human behavior sensing/understanding, Natural language processing, Multi-modal human machine interaction etc.
- Creates Intellectual Property in the form of patents and published papers
- Interacts & communicates effectively with local partners to be aware of and educated in the most advanced technologies, ideas and trends.
- Collaborates globally with Nissan researchers in US, Japan, and India to share current activities, ideas, and findings.
- Applies and tests ideas through the modification of and use of prototypes
- Discusses and proposes research strategies with Sr. Researcher; adjusts research agenda based on customer voice and feedback
- Manage appropriate budget's as allocated and determined
- Recognized as Industry Expert
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree required + 8-15 years of relevant experience or Doctoral degree + 5-10 years of relevant experience
Relevant degrees: Computer Science, Aeronautics, Astronautics, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Enginering, Civil & Transportation Engineering or other related degrees focsed on Mobility, Traffic and Smart City areas.
- Research expertise and in-depth knowledge in technical (e.g. intelligent mobility, smart cities, computer science, math/statistics, civil/transportation, or related)
- Solid foundation in software development
Responsibilities
- Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques to enhance predictive analytics
- Neural Networks using state-of-the-art methods
- Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of machine learning and neural networks techniques and algorithms, such as CNNs, Transformer Networks, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
- Experience with common data science toolkits, such as Sci-kit Learn, Spark ML, PyTorch, Keras, etc.. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable
- Great communication skills
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Matplotlib, etc..
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL or equivalent
- Proficiency with Excel in terms of analyzing data and producing graphs, tables, and reports.
- Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, Bayesian, Markov chains, etc.
- Good scripting and programming skills in R, Python, Java, or equivalent
- Data-oriented personality
- MS or PhD degree in Statistics, Operations Research, EE, CS or equivalent / related area
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics
