About the role
Redaptive is searching for a General Counsel to join its highly collaborative legal team supporting the Company’s continued growth. The General Counsel will report to the Chief Financial Officer. In this role, you will work with our commercial team on energy retrofit and technology transactions, predominately in the form of master services agreements, leases, loans, and project acquisitions. In addition, there will be ample opportunities to work on a diverse set of legal matters across Company functions to position Redaptive for its next stage of significant growth.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide legal guidance and support to the executive team on a wide range of strategic and operational issues.
- Oversee all corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder communications, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead/train internal legal team and continue to build out capabilities/talent-base in India.
- Oversee legal requirements and negotiations associated with corporate and asset level debt financing.
- Lead the negotiation and drafting of a variety of commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about developments in relevant areas of law and advise the executive team on potential impacts to the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Abilities and Skills:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law and securities.
- Prior experience working with pre-IPO / Public companies is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal advice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
