Summary of Job Duties:

The Design Engineer I is to be part of the design services team at the University of Arkansas’ Multi-User Silicon Carbide (MUSiC) Research and Fabrication Facility. This position will focus on several key aspects of silicon carbide (SiC) circuit design interacting with internal and external users which are likely to include those from universities, industry, and government labs. The tasks will involve all aspects of design and fabrication readiness including but not limited to: design, verification, and characterization of standard libraries and test structures, implementation and support of process design kits (PDKs), and reticle compilation and mask generation. The successful candidate must be familiar with analog, mixed-signal and digital design principles and methods, electronic design automation tools for IC design such as those from Cadence and Siemens, familiarity with test and measurement methods and equipment for benchtop IC testing. It would be desirable to have basic knowledge of power semiconductor devices for layout and PDK generation in power semiconductor device processes. Knowledge of silicon IC design is a fundamental requirement with SiC IC design experience desirable.
