Job Responsibilities
Looking for tech savvy individuals wanting to travel and work outdoors! The position will require traveling throughout Pittsburgh, PA. Traveling and lodging expenses will be covered.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field audits of existing cable tv, telecommunications, and electrical distribution systems
- Visually identify, inspect, and record telecommunications equipment and structures in the right-of-way
- Take detailed field notes and as built markups using a tablet computer that tie directly to engineering/planning software
- Correlate route map and field photos directly to time stamps and field locations
- Record attributes and current conditions of overhead and ground-level telecommunications and utility structures
- Maintain consistent quality data while achieving our production standards
- Use measuring equipment, cameras, and tablet computers to establish a detailed record of system data
- Execute and plan daily goals while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints.
- Apply engineering design standards to aerial and underground pole/line cable including Joint -Use Design, Make Ready, Pole Replacement, Primary Service, Reliability/Maintenance Design, Upgrades, Voltage Conversion, and Tie Lines.
Position Qualifications
- Ability to travel for 4-6 months
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates in a related technical discipline preferred
- Previous cable tv experience preferred
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to endure frequent: driving, standing, walking long distances (up to 5 miles or more in a day), navigate through rough terrain on foot, and lifting/balancing objects that may weigh up to 20 lbs.
- Clean DMV driving record and ability to safely drive/operate a 4x4 vehicle.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven ability to deal with governing authorities and their requirements, negotiate with private landowners, and provide communication, instruction, and guidance as needed to contractors.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and operate customer based proprietary software and other computer systems to expedite and facilitate the work order process.
- Strong telecommunications and /or electrical distribution technical knowledge and skills is plus.
- Knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution construction and planning procedures is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
