Job Description

About the Role:

The Enterprise software team is looking for an experienced and energetic scrum master to drive the development and release of LIMS applications that are central to Guardant Health’s diagnostic products.

In this role, you will leverage project management practices and agile methodology to serve in the role of scrum master for one or more development teams and work in a multi-team environment to plan and coordinate rapid software development and frequent product releases in a regulated space. 

You understand the principles behind best software development practices and can guide people to stay true to those principles. You combine customer empathy and your passion for moving fast to deliver high-quality releases that benefit our patients and customers and motivate our engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate scrum meetings and manage the scrum boards
  • Identify, track, and help remove obstacles and blockers preventing team members from completing their assignments
  • Track and report on key team metrics and help the team incrementally improve
  • Coordinate release activities including documentation, testing, training, deployment and post-deployment support
  • Drive releases through challenges by managing scope, timeline and escalation of issues to technical leads, and product managers. 
  • Collaborate with product management to define what features will be included with each release
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Software Quality teams to confirm the quality of release with stakeholders and ensure proper release documents are in place  
  • Help maintain software development procedures, best practices and guidance documentation
  • Communicate to stakeholders with status updates and release notes

Qualifications

  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master or similar role
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle, release process and post release support practices 
  • Understanding and having hands-on experience with DevOps practices  
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in document management in regulated environments, such as FDA, CLIA, GCP, is a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified Product Owner (CSPO).

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $89,936 to $139,200. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $128,480 to $174,000. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
