What will you do?

As a Structural Analysis Project Manager in our San Diego, CA office, you will function as the technical and project lead for small to mid-sized projects involving structural finite element analysis (FEA). You will own Quartus’ relationships with several customers, contribute to sales efforts, plan and execute projects to completion, delegate and review work, perform technical work on more challenging tasks, function as a technical mentor to younger engineers, and present results to customers. This is a highly technical position and a strong ability to conduct and lead challenging structural FEA tasks is essential. This position will have a focus on project work and technical mentoring using the ANSYS suite of software tools.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as technical lead on projects involving structural FEA for a range of solutions and load types, including static, nonlinear, thermal distortion, modal, structural dynamics (vibration, shock, acoustic), structural-thermal-optical-performance (STOP) analysis, design optimization, and test analysis & correlation
  • Manage all aspects of structural analysis projects – project planning & staffing, communication with customer, deciding on the technical approach for solving complex problems, delegate and review technical work, perform technical work on the more challenging aspects of the project, present results to customer, successfully complete work within schedule and budget
  • Own Quartus’ relationships with customers: build, develop, and grow business relationships
  • Contribute to sales efforts by writing proposals, presenting engineering capabilities, and assisting business development team with meeting, conference, and marketing content support
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers

What are we looking for?

  • BS and/or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or similar Engineering field
  • 7-15 years of work experience with strong focus on structural FEA
  • Experience leading groups of engineers on analysis projects
  • Expertise using ANSYS Workbench for structural and dynamics analysis is required
  • Experience using ANSYS for heat transfer analysis is desirable
  • Experience using APDL and ACT programming languages highly desirable
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Spacecraft, Aeronautics, Composite Structures, Optical Systems, Consumer Products
  • Experience or expertise with static, modal, and/or vibration test planning, analytical direction, and model correlation is highly desirable
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Project Manager pay range: $104,190.22 - $170,245.47*

*This pay range represents base pay. In addition, you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
