Overall Purpose: Responsible for overseeing customer contracts and ensuring compliance, accuracy and alignment with industry standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Contract Drafting and Review: Overseeing the drafting, reviewing, and revising of contractual documents. Ensuring that all contracts adhere to company policies and customer specifications, while safeguarding the company’s contractual posture.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Leading a team of Customer Contract professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
  • Negotiation and Change Management: Leading the negotiation of customer contracts and modifications, including follow-on quotations and revisions. Striving to achieve mutually beneficial terms, conditions, and specifications.
  • Issue Resolution and Compliance: Supervising the resolution of contract-related issues and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Contract Execution and Administration: Overseeing the proper execution of contract requirements, including the preparation of statements of work, authorization for work, bid package preparation & analysis, and completion of contracted tasks, while maintaining detailed contract records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Federal Contracts Experience: Demonstrated experience managing federal government contracts, including pre award, post award, and contract administration activities in a regulated environment, with working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and applicable agency supplements (e.g., DFARS, GSAM).
  • CAS & Cost Principles: Hands on experience with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and government cost principles, including compliance, rate structures, audits, and interactions with DCAA/DCMA or equivalent oversight bodies.
  • Contract Compliance: Proven ability to ensure contractual, financial, and operational compliance across federal contracts, including labor charging, cost allowability, and internal controls.
  • Team Leadership: Experience leading or managing teams supporting prime or subcontractor federal engagements, with accountability for contract performance, risk management, and compliance outcomes.
  • Audit Management: Strong understanding of government audit processes, including preparation, response, and remediation of findings related to FAR, CAS, and approved accounting systems.
  • Certifications & Clearances: Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications, clearances, and training required to support federal government contracts, including any agency or contract specific compliance requirements, as a condition of employment.
  • Collaboration: Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners to support business objectives and operational alignment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 8-12 years of related experience in federal contracts. 
  • 10+ years of experience in contract management across Major Government Acquisition Programs
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain a clearance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to employees and management at all levels.
  • Highly adaptable to change; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Our Associate Director-Customer Contract's earn between $130,700 - $196,100. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
