House Manager (Independent Contractor)

SUMMARY

The Caretaker/ Support Staff is responsible for keeping designated buildings in a clean and orderly condition. He must be able to perform duties involving light lifting and operating cleaning equipment in addition to responding to and reporting site emergencies.  Caretaker/Support Staff are responsible for accounting for the whereabouts of Recovery Program Participants who live at Beattie Manor.

This is an independent contractor position and is required to live on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleans hallways, stairs, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and office space
• Empties trash and recycling containers.
• Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk by use of shovel or machine operated equipment.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using conventional or machine methods (Floor stripper/buffer).
• Cleans and vacuums rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and interior areas of facilities.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and other woodwork as required.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Participates in the room turnover process by storing or disposing of items as well as cleaning the rooms to get it ready for next participant.
• Completes Incident Reports and communicates to Clinical staff and Support Services Director staff any concerning behavior and/or maintenance emergencies
• Acts as a first responder in the case of property emergency situations and communicates utilizing the proper channels (ie. Respond to lock outs, floods, safety issues, etc)
• Attains, maintains, and promotes a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment.
• Performs other duties as required.
  
  QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Must live on site
• Must be available to act as the first responder for property emergencies
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
