Join the Mohican Lodge & Conference Center team as a Sales & Catering Manager and help create memorable experiences for our guests, groups, and event clients. In this role, you’ll support and represent the lodge by identifying sales opportunities, building strong client relationships, and booking hotel rooms and event space for corporate, convention, association, and SMERF market segments. You’ll work closely with the General Manager and Sales team to grow revenue, increase occupancy, and develop thoughtful strategies that showcase all the hotel and event center have to offer.

What You’ll Do:
- Build and carry out an ongoing sales plan for the hotel and conference center in partnership with the General Manager.
- Participate in regular sales meetings with the property and Regional Sales team, General Manager, department leaders, and clients before and after conferences.
- Provide a welcoming, hands-on presence for conference, association, and event clients while they are on property.
- Create contracts and booking details for groups and events, including function space, sleeping rooms, and food and beverage arrangements.
- Help generate revenue while supporting strong guest satisfaction, service standards, and overall hotel performance.
- Plan, prepare for, and follow up on sales calls within assigned market segments in support of the Sales Department’s goals.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- 2–5 years of sales and marketing experience preferred; prior catering sales experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of catering software and hotel front desk POS systems preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a clear understanding of the English language.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, guests, and customers.
- Strong interpersonal, sales, and marketing skills, along with solid organization, planning, and goal-setting abilities.
- Knowledge of the regional, state, city, hotel, and conference center competitive market preferred.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus, presentation, delivery, guest service, and room setup helpful.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good driving record and ability to drive for work-related travel.
- Able to move at a steady pace between multiple functions occurring at the same time.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Able to sit at a keyboard for extended periods.
- Able to climb stairs in hotels that do not provide elevators.
