A Day In the Life:
As a Human Resources Generalist, a typical day might include the following:
- Provides policy and procedural information and guidance to managers on performance management, evaluation, and recognition programs, and processes.
- Monitor the completion of performance appraisal reports, provide status reports to management, and compile and distribute material for career service promotion and/or awards panels.
- Maintains electronic HR records, ensuring the data and documents pertaining to employees and organizational structure are accurate and up-to-date.
- Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and performance evaluations.
Must Haves:
- TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in HR application comparable to work performed at the HR Generalist Developmental level.
- Strong communication skills (listening , oral, and written)
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in any substantive field is acceptable, preferably in human resources, business administration or a closely related discipline. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in HR application comparable to work performed at the HR Generalist Developmental level.
Nice to Haves:
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to obtain a thorough knowledge of client regulations and HR policies and procedures sufficient to address moderately complex issues.
