This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through Computer Aided Design (CAD), you will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of design and manufacture of vehicle structure, mechanisms, and components. You will use CAD to generate models and drawings, propose design alternatives, create interface control documents, and deliver geometry suitable for Finite Element Models (FEM). You will incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company, program, and industry standards. You will perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews. In addition, you will coach, mentor, and technically assist other designers and team members. Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry
- Proficiency in design and integration using Creo Parametric.
- Experience in Windchill.
- Proficiency in drawing generation, checking, and release processes.
- Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience with tube and pipe generation and routing.
- Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products.
- Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- 4+ years of experience in aerospace development (launch vehicle or aircraft).
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $70,460.00-$98,549.35Other site ranges may differ
