Job Details

Shift: 4, 10 hour shifts. Can be Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday. 7am – 5:30 with a half hour lunch

Under direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Production Technician is responsible for assembling and testing manufactured goods before they are implemented for internal use or marketed to the public. They will ensure products are working as intended according to the CAD drawings and standard practices and are free from defects or other issues. Must be able to follow production schedules and troubleshoot issues as they arise. The Production Technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

  • Operates and maintains production equipment and tools.  

  • Follows the production schedule and ensures all deadlines are met.  

  • Assembles and tests equipment either for sale to the customer or internal use for testing or prototyping.

  • Follows detailed instruction as outlined in physical drawing and manufacturing policies and procedures. 

  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment used in the production process. 

  • Rebuilds and wires AC and DC motors for specific assembly. 

  • Must have basic knowledge of pumps, including how to build and refurbish.

  • Understands general wiring from diagrams. 

  • Calibrates and maintains any test equipment used in the process. 

  • Follow company procedures for returned goods and other defective material. 

  • Assists engineering or development personnel in the testing of prototype products. 

  • Responsible for maintaining and recording inventory of the required build.

  • Follows all safety procedures. 

  • Must be able to understand and interpret technical drawings and schematics. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills and Experience:

  • 0-1 year of experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of electrical wiring as well as 240/120 3 phase and single-phase power including transformers is preferred.

  • Experience with use of power tools, volt meters, reading electrical diagrams and following instructions. Must be mechanically inclined.

  • Adequate mobility to continually walk and stand; pull from various shelf heights; and ability to lift up to 35 to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Good customer service skills and a sense of urgency are required. Must be detail oriented.

  • Must be able to read and understand English, have number recognition skills, and good hand/eye coordination.

  • Computer knowledge is required.

Knowledge:

  • Reading:   Locates, understands, and interprets written information in order to perform tasks; learns from reading text by determining the main idea or essential message; identifies all relevant details, facts, and specifications; infers or finds out the meaning of unknown words and/or technical terms.
