About the job

The Senior Controller ensures that financial transactions are in compliance with corporate policy, statutory requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles. Manages processes and projects for the company, often across Business Units, Divisions, Legal Entities, or Geographic Regions. Coordinates, administers, and controls financial operations and/or projects. Operates effectively across all areas of the business operations including: General Accounting & Reporting, Policy, Tax, Legal Reporting, Statutory Reporting, Sales & Consulting, Information Technology, and general operational and corporate transactions.

 

As a Senior Controller, you will: 

• Prepare financial results, analysis, and recommendations.
• Prepare and submit actuals, budgets and views (i.e. 'ownership' of financial data)
• Ensure financial compliance with statutory requirements (legal and tax), corporate policy, and audit requirements, including audited financial statements and footnotes as required.
• Liaise with internal and external professional advisors (banks, tax, accounting, audit, legal etc.) to transact complex business on behalf of the company.
• Together with Legal, review sales and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with financial policies and proper accounting treatment.
• Participate in and coordinate the development of local and corporate financial policies and procedures.
• Research and/or assess the financial implications of business opportunities and risks.
• Oversee the development and operation of financial systems and/or processes.
• Coordinate finance activities, providing guidance and recommendations to finance team(s).
• Perform other projects and transactions as required by management and business needs. 

Required Qualifications 

• 8 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a large multi-national corporate environment. Previous audit experience desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. Master’s degree and/or accounting certification (internationally recognized accountancy qualification such as Chartered Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar).
• Awareness on polish VAT, Income & Corporation Tax regulations.
• Awareness of latest developments and best practice in financial reporting, controls, and systems.
• Strong financial analysis capability.
• Results focussed and a self-starter, equally able and comfortable to deliver with others or employ a hands-on approach to ensure goals are achieved.
• High degree of care for the quality of product / services produced from the Finance function.
• A strong attention to detail.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
