Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Technician at Oyster Bay Animal Hospital, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients. You will have the opportunity to utilize your skills in animal handling, medical knowledge, and client communication to deliver comprehensive care and exceptional service.

Here is What Your day May Consist of:

• Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
• Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Educate pet owners on preventive care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery
• Handle and restrain animals with care and compassion
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment
• Admit and discharge patients 

Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:

• Completion of a two-year or four-year American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program from a community college, college, or university
• License certification as required in NYS
• Externship experience
