Job Overview
We currently have an opening for a part-time Patient Acess Representative to join our Portland, Oregon team. Greets, directs, checks in and registers patients; enters, updates and verifies patient insurance information. Schedules outside services; assembles chart forms; updates ID sheet, etc. Secures signatures on release of information, required treatment and billing authorization and other legal documents as necessary. Scans documents in EMR. Maintains Incomplete Verification Worklist in EMR. Assists in insurance authorization process and financial counseling functions.
Schedule: 20 hours weekly
Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year
Compensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.
Responsibilities
Customer Relations• Greets and accurately directs patients/families presenting for appointments and treatment. Patient Information• Accurately enters/updates patient information into computer system according to current applicable procedure at the time of registration. Insurance Information• Accurately enters and updates patient’s insurance information in computer system according to current applicable procedure at the time of registration. Patient Check-in• Performs check-in of patients who arrive for scheduled appointments or admissions. Information collection and management• Accurately prepare and secure signatures on required treatment and billing authorization forms. Facilitate and assist with other legal documents as necessary according to current procedure/guidelines.

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years patient access, insurance verification
- 2 years computer applications, typing, general office skills
- 2 years clerical experience with the ability to coordinate, manage, and follow-up
- COVID-19 Vaccination
Preferred
- Associate in related field
- 2 years acute care nursing
