SEARCH DESCRIPTION:

The Tow Youth Justice Institute, part of the Henry C Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking a Project Coordinator for the Children’s Behavioral and Mental Health Policy and Planning Committee (CBMHPPC). The CBMHPPC is a legislative body established in 2021 by House Bill No. 5433 and is charged with evaluating policies related to children’s behavioral and mental health in CT. The CBMHPPC Project Coordinator is a full-time, grant funded position and works in a team with other TYJI staff and faculty to achieve the goals of the CBMHPPC.

 
The Project Coordinator reports to the CBMHPPC Senior Project Manager. 

This is a new position and updates may be needed within the first twelve months. Role and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following: 

•    Collaborate and work with the Associate Director of the Tow Youth Justice Institute, the CBMHPPC Senior Project Manager, and other UNH faculty, staff, and students to achieve the goals of the CBMHPPC.
•    Coordinate, assist, and provide support to CBMHPPC workgroups by drafting agendas, PowerPoints, and other meeting material.
•    Schedule and provide logistical support for CBMHPPC monthly meetings and meetings of its workgroups.
•    Support the Senior Manager in the development and implementation of the project plans of the workgroups.
•    Support the CBMHPPC workgroups in researching best practices in the field of children’s behavioral and mental health, and draft reports as identified through legislation and or the workplans.
•    Facilitation and or co-facilitation of meetings as determined by the JJPOC project plans.

•    Excellent problem-solving skills and good judgment.
•    Self-awareness of personal and professional attributes and values that align with TYJI goals and deliverables.
•    Conscientious regarding professional demeanor, interaction, and timely attendance.
•    Media literacy skills in use of electronic technology.

Salary: $40,000.00 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in related subject/concentration.
•    Demonstrated experience in project coordination.
•    Experience working in a related field to children’s behavioral and mental health.
•    Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, on-line meeting platforms Zooms, Microsoft teams, Google meets, and website navigation) and/or other presentation software.
•    Additional preferred skills and abilities:
o    Understanding of project deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements.
o    Knowledge of youth serving state and municipal agencies, organizations, non-profit providers of children’s behavioral and mental health services, secondary schools, law enforcement, advocates and activists, faith community, parents and caregivers, and youth organizations.
o    Experience/practice in RBA (Results-Based Accountability) and evidence-based approaches as well as data driven decision-making.
