Patient Services Representative Senior

Starting pay is 18.61 per hour or higher depending on years of experience.

Practice and Culture

This role is responsible for processing referrals and scheduling patients for a 26 chair oncology infusion department. The department is fast-paced and growing with a planned expansion of 13 additional chairs/beds. We work with mainly oncology and transfusion-dependent patients from the Corewell Health West area though we have some patients to who travel to be seen in our space. The infusion team is a tight-knit, welcoming and collaborative team. Strong interpersonal skills and patient-centered thinking are essential to success in this role. Long-term relationships with patients are common in our space and we become the "go to" for these patients. This can be very rewarding for both patients and team members.

Job Summary

Organizes day-to-day clerical function in the delivery of quality health care services. Provides functional guidance to clerical staff.

Essential Functions

• Serves as, and performs functions of, Floor Coordinator.

• Oversees development and delivery of functional training to clerical staff.

• Responsible for auditing and developing action plans for process improvement.

• Performs tracking and trending audits within department/practice.

• Serves as a subject matter expert/resource to the department/practice.

• Possesses the ability to perform the roles of Patient Services Representative, Associate and Intermediate roles when necessary.

• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 5 years of relevant experience typically gained through skills/ knowledge / abilities of related experience

Preferred

• Associate's Degree
