Position Summary

The Director Clinical Affairs, Interventional reports to the VP. Clinical Affairs and is responsible for managing and overseeing all Clinical Affairs activities and programs, resource identification and allocation for the Interventional business unit. As part of the leadership team, will identify, outline and oversee the development and delivery of franchise education and procedural training to internal and external customers, to maximize clinical outcomes for patients. The Director will oversee the strategic alignment, CMA team deliverables and budget. This individual will lead the Clinical Affairs team for the Americas and serve as a consultative resource for OUS regions to support global initiatives as directed.  
This position requires the demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate among multiple internal stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to partner with key stakeholders in Marketing, R&D and Engineering. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to troubleshoot medical device applications in a cardiology clinical setting are necessary. Strong leadership and organizational skills are required with an aptitude for motivating clinicians and providing clinical support to all Teleflex employees.  Must have the capability for strategic planning to reach the company’s long-term goals.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of clinical education program planning and execution in North America, focused on the safe and effective use of Teleflex’s focus medical devices from the Interventional Business Unit. 
    • Clinical content creation, competency validation and management
    • Clinical workshops
    • Live cases and bedside support
    • Product In-services/implementation and support for sales cycle adoption
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team by defining department and team goals, hiring, team development, mentoring and performance management. 
    • Develops strategic plan 
    • Identifies, executes and delivers CMA tactics on time and budget 
    • Monitor, maintains and reports monthly CMA activities 
    • Identify, hire, develop and talent to support gaps when needed
  • Manage expectations for scientific exchange with medical societies by ensuring high level engagement and Clinical Affairs presence
    • Pre-conference & in-booth educational programs
    • Meetings with scientific committees
    • Education grant support 
    • Research submissions (in collaboration with the Global Research & Scientific Services team) 
  • Collaborates with Clinical Operations in the development of evidence-generation plans and publication plans for the SBU NA products
    • Engage in MARCOM/Agile to ensure efficiencies
       

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Minimum of Bachelors’ Degree required. Prefer a focus in life science or similar field.
•    Current or previous professional medical licensure such as RN/BSN, RCIS, RT, required.
•    Possess minimum 5 years’ Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience
•    Clinical proficiency in area of clinical training and experience with at least one of the Teleflex Interventional cardiology/oncology product lines preferred
•    Possess minimum eight years’ experience in the medical device field; and/or clinical practice, interventional cardiology/oncology experience required
•    Minimum of 3 years of people management experience including people development 
•    Experience in professional education
