Basic Function

The Global Asset Integrity & Turnaround (GAIT) organization has oversight responsibilities for the planning and execution of turnaround events. The Manager, Turnaround & Capital Project Integration, NA leads and directs all capital project integration for North America turnarounds. The Manager, Turnaround & Capital Project Integration, NA is the single point of contact for the Global Major Capital organization as well and the Site Capital groups for turnaround related capital projects. They work closely with individual turnaround and project teams to develop strategies for the integration and optimization of capital work required in the turnaround execution window. The position resides in GAIT and will require business travel to sites in North America for the preparation of turnarounds.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to enable the organization to achieve GoalZERO HSE performance
  • Provide leadership to drive site adoption of the Turnaround Excellence Model requirements
  • Member of the Turnaround Event Management / Steering Teams as well as key Capital Project Steering Teams
  • Develops overall turnaround and capital project integration plans, works with Project Managers, Turnaround Teams and Engineering Contractors to develop recovery plans when deliverable timing is at risk, and works with Project Managers and Turnaround Teams to develop transition plans to clarify responsibilities between the Capital Project and the Turnaround
  • Works with Project, Turnaround, and Construction Managers to develop integrated contracting strategies and constructability design to minimize turnaround execution phase work
  • Develops, manages, leads, and assist with turnaround improvement efforts
  • Communicates status, key performance indicators and metrics
  • Participates in Peer Reviews and Readiness assessments for Turnarounds and Projects
  • Collaboratively works with turnaround and capital project teams to deliver excellence and meet business plans
  • Lead, mentor, and effectively transfer technical expertise to less experienced turnaround professionals

Min. Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical field

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a process plant or comparable environment is required
  • Prior project management and turnaround experience strongly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of both turnaround and capital project processes, tools and capabilities

Languages

  • English is required

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.  SAP, Primavera, PowerBI, and Archer skills preferred
  • Strong transparent communicator and relationship builder
  • Exceptional leadership, and ability to mentor less experienced turnaround professionals
