About the role:
The Senior Accessibility Quality Engineer will play a critical role in the development and delivery of high-quality mobile applications that are accessible to all users for the Digital Banking Solutions business. As a Senior Accessibility Quality Engineer, you will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of automated test frameworks, identify and integrate accessibility automated tools, add automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor cross-functional teams on accessibility design and testing best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accessibility standards, assistive technologies, best practices, experience in manual and automated accessibility testing, and a passion for improving user experiences.
What you will be doing:
· Define and implement the accessibility test strategy for Digital with collaboration across the enterprise and compliance groups.
· Work closely with designers, developers and product managers to integrate accessibility requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accessibility requirements are met throughout the product development lifecycle.
· Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing of web and mobile applications to ensure compliance with accessibility compliance standards.
· Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Quality and help teams increase productivity and foster innovation.
· Lead the planning, design, and execution of automated testing strategies for mobile and web to include functional and accessibility testing.
· Implement and maintain Mobile and Web test frameworks and Accessibility automated testing tools.
· Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab, and collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure automated testing is part of the development workflow.
· Demonstrated ability to innovate and leverage new technologies, tools, and techniques to solve complex technical challenges in continuous testing and delivery.
· Stay updated on the latest accessibility standards, tools, and best practices and advocate for continuous improvements in accessibility.
· Identify, prioritize, and track defects using Jira and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation of fixes.
· Evaluate mobile app usability, accessibility, and user experience (UX) design elements through usability testing, A/B testing, and user feedback analysis to enhance overall app quality and user satisfaction.
· Participate in code reviews to maintain the quality and stability of the test frameworks.
· Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility testing topics, stay updated on industry standards for best practices in accessibility testing, provide technical guidance to other QE team members, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.
· Collaborate with development, QE, DevOps, and product management to align quality goals and drive continuous improvement in quality.
· Provide training and resources to team members on accessibility standards and best practices.
· Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence in Quality within the Digital teams, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
What you will need:
· Experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, to test and validate accessibility features.
· Proficiency in languages and tes frameworks such as JavaScript, Python, Swift, PyTest, SwiftUI,XCUITest.
· Experience with Accessibility automation tools such as Axe.
· Knowledge of Accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g. WCAG 2.1, ADA)
· Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD
· Proficient in problem-solving, debugging and log analysis to troubleshoot mobile and web app issues.
· Experience in creating and maintaining test reports/dashboards and defect tracking using tools like Jira, Zephyr, ReportPortal, TestRail, or Allure.
· Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, designers, and QE teams.
· Ability to articulate testing progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders, and contribute to discussions on accessibility compliance and quality decisions
