Project Development Manager, Wind & Solar

Fortum’s Wind and Solar business area is responsible for the development of wind and solar business. Our aim is to grow, especially in our home market where conditions for solar power are promising. Wind and solar power play a crucial role in decarbonization of our societies. Fortum are engaged in developing three wind power projects in Finmark in cooperation with Nordkraft, and have partly ownership for three wind power plants in operation around Narvik.   

 

The location of the position depends on your preference but will be connected to our offices in Kristiansand or Oslo.   

 

About the role 

In the role as Project Development Manager, your key tasks will be:  

• Mapping of potential new wind and solar project areas  

• Negotiating land lease agreements  

• Managing permitting process 

• Managing of municipality relations 

 

In practice, this means working closely and communicating with the various external stakeholders including land owners, politicians, authorities, neighbors, associations, consultants, advisors, suppliers etc.  

 

The Fortum organization has key experts in each area of Wind and Solar (engineering, construction, operation), as well as more business-related experts (procurement, offtake, and strategy) to support you in your work. You will be a part of the project development team in Norway. The final scope of your role in the team will be adapted based on your expertise, experience, but also your interests.  

 

You will be reporting to the Head Project Development Norway. 

 

About you 

The following competences will help you to success in the role as Project Development Manager:  

• Several years of experience from corresponding tasks 

• Strong understanding concerning wind and solar power business 

• Excellent negotiation skills  

• Ability to create trust among various stakeholders 

• Talent to close deals 

• Capability to work independently and effectively 

• Fluency in Norwegian and English is essential  

 

Experience from and/or education in one or several of the following areas will be an advantage. 

• Energy permit legislation experience 

• Experience with the plan and construction act  

• Environmental experience  

• Experience and competence as an electronic mapping super user   

• Landowners and land issue  

• Project development  

• Technical knowledge wind turbine and solar (electro and mechanical) 

• Economical experience and skills  

 

Education 

• Many different educational backgrounds may be relevant, such as engineering, business administration and economy. . 

• Your education will mainly be at the master's level, but relevant experience may make other educations equivalent as well.
