Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with a comprehensive skill set in network administration, security, and troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise to solve day-to-day challenges, while also contributing to long-term IT planning. The position involves managing and optimizing network infrastructure to support the continuous availability and performance of critical systems across multiple locations.

**This role requires after-hours availability for emergency responses and system maintenance. The first six weeks will require 100% onsite presence, transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement thereafter.

PAY RATE: $60hour to $67/hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

-Design, implement, optimize, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, and DR networks.

-Configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, accelerators, and wireless technologies.

-Plan and manage network security architecture to mitigate internal and external risks.

-Ensure controlled access to information systems relative to potential risks, implementing corrective measures as needed.

-Participate in computer security incident response efforts and other security investigations.

-Manage and enforce security policies, access control lists (ACLs), and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IPS/IDS).

-Perform network performance tuning and capacity planning.

-Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity for servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and appliances.

-Utilize monitoring tools such as OpManager, Netflow, Nagios, and MRTG to track network performance and generate reports.

-Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and technical documentation for system design, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.

-Support disaster recovery planning and testing.

-Participate in the deployment of networking technologies in virtualized environments.

-Ensure smooth and reliable network operations to meet business objectives.

-Monitor and test network performance and resolve problem areas promptly.

-Manage network inventory, documentation, and technical specifications.

-Oversee network asset management and provide recommendations for hardware/software upgrades.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,

-Business Administration, Math, or equivalent related experience.

-Cisco certification (e.g., CCNP or CyberOps Professional preferred).

-Experience with:

...Managing Cisco wireless networks.

...Cisco ISE configuration and management.

...Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Checkpoint, Fortinet, and OpManager.

...Protocols and standards (OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VPC, VRF, VDS, MPLS, SD-WAN).

-Strong understanding of network security concepts, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.

-Proficiency with packet analysis tools (e.g., tcpdump, Wireshark).

-Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT Service Management frameworks.

-Experience with scripting and automation (a plus).

-Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

-Strong collaborative skills and ability to lead technical teams when necessary.
