StampTech Fasteners TM Division Description:
The ITW StampTech Fastener TM Division serves the major OEMs and Tier suppliers in the North American automotive market. The division supplies stamped metal fasteners and engineered fastener assemblies that leverage our deep-draw stamping technologies. The annual revenue for the division is approximately $160M. Locations include Gallatin, TN, Lexington, KY & Naugatuck, CT.

Job Description
This opportunity is an entry-level, career starting position within the automotive manufacturing industry with a highly successful fortune 200 company. A successful candidate does not need to possess prior experience working in the quality auditing field or previous experience in a manufacturing environment but does need to meet the basic qualifications for the position and possess an interest/passion for learning the Quality Auditor role.
Apprentices completing this program will acquire the basic skills and qualifications necessary to grow into a fully trained Quality Auditor role. This program is intended to be completed in 1 year; where the apprentice will satisfy all requirements to obtain a Quality Auditor Certification provided by the Tennessee Department of Labor in partnership with ITW StampTech Fasteners™. These requirements are outlined below:
2,000 hours of on-the-job technical learning
223 hours of online related technical instruction
Learns to perform laboratory tests, inspections, and measurements at various stages of the production process to determine product characteristics are in conformance to internal and external requirements. Is an essential part of team to assure product meet standards for quality control, process control, or product development.
Primary Key Responsibilities
- Duties will include first article inspections, in-process testing, final and receiving inspections
- The use and knowledge of hand gages used for inspection such as calipers, micrometers, thickness gages, and thread gages
- The use of optical comparators, vision measurement systems or CMM experience
- The use of testing equipment for torque, force, and rockwell hardness
- The use of Measurlink software (SPC charts, X-Bar R Charts, Histograms, Control limits, etc)
- Basic computer skills will be necessary (Microsoft Excel, Word, Email, etc.)
- Blueprint reading and the basic understanding of GD&T
- Be familiar with ISO/TS16949 & ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
- Participate in the training of production employees as needed
- Perform 5S Responsibilities
- Documenting defects and recommendations for improvement. (Rejection control report)
- Follow all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company.
- Hold self-accountable to create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Competently perform all tasks with a focus on safety within a fast-paced environment.
- Contributes to team effort by focusing on continuous improvement and success for the entire team.
- From time to time, personnel may be assigned other duties for the purpose of training, additional assistance or for other reasons as needed necessary by management.
- Cross-train with department co-workers to increase the knowledge, flexibility, and efficiency of the overall ITW team.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must have completed at least 2 years of high school
- Must have a willingness to learn Quality Auditing trade
- Performance to comply with all company procedures, policies, and work Instruction
