Job Profile Summary:
The Associate Software Engineer Intern assists in the research, design, development, analysis, testing, and implementation of software operating or application systems. Role is an internship/apprenticeship model to advance the candidates’ technical capabilities as well as to provide mentorship to enhance the individual’s personal development. Communicates project information to client, project manager, or other design personnel working on projects. Writes and maintains complete documentation and may support more experienced developers in documentation. Supports team members and ensures established goals and deadlines are met. Keeps management informed of status and significant problems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Work with Agile team members and assist in developing web applications and web services using Java, SOAP, REST, XML, HTTP, and other web technologies.
- Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, suggesting solutions &/or resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses
- Assist on delivering high quality projects on time, through ability to low level design architecture, write high quality code, and execute effective unit tests
- Assist in the integration of third-party products with existing infrastructure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self-managed and team-based Agile projects
- Assist other engineers to work with internal customers to gather business processes and project requirements
