Bureau/Division Overview
The mission of the Department of Revenue’s Child Support Services Division is to enhance the well-being of children by partnering with parents and caregivers to meet the financial needs of the family. Effective child support services are an essential part of the larger effort by the Commonwealth and the federal government to promote families' economic self-sufficiency.
DOR/CSS’s core functions are to establish parentage, and establish, enforce and modify child support and health insurance orders. Much of our success depends on collaborations with a wide variety of state agencies and private entities.
Position Summary
The DOR/CSS Student Intern will work closely with Senior Management to coordinate the implementation of our Outreach Strategy. The Student Intern will conduct project management activities, effectively communicate details of the implementation to management, staff and external stakeholders, provide input into decision-making regarding marketing DOR/CSS services and develop written materials as needed. The Student Intern will collaborate closely with our seasoned team and build relationships with our key stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning of the implementation of the Five-Year Outreach Strategy by documenting project tasks and timeframes in a detailed project plan.
- Coordinate the work of all Outreach workgroups by hosting/scheduling meetings, identifying and tracking project tasks and action items and informing the Executive Team on progress.
- Assist the Executive Team with prioritizing tasks and deliverables.
- Support all meeting preparation sessions, monitor participation and track performance.
- Provide ongoing support to all tracks of the Outreach implementation including areas where an external vendor is providing services.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to deliver concise information to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in coordinating among internal and external stakeholders to facilitate specific Outreach activities.
- If needed, provide support to develop and distribute project materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, particularly in working with a diverse group of individuals
- Strong writing skills
- Strong Project Management skills
- High proficiency in using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with Microsoft Forms, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently
