The Opportunity: The Finance Assistant is the essential engine room of our fundraising operation. In this entry-level role, you will be the "right hand" to both the Finance Director and the Call Time Manager, ensuring that our ambitious fundraising goals translate into executed reality. This is a role for an energetic, detail-obsessed operator who is eager to learn the mechanics of political fundraising from the ground up. You will manage data, support high-stakes events, conduct donor research, and supervise interns, all while working in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
You’re our person if:
- You are detail-obsessed. You understand that a misspelled name or a wrong number on a call sheet can cost the Party money. You take pride in accuracy.
- You are a utility player. You are happy to jump from researching a donor’s background to staffing a check-in table at a gala, to entering data in NGP. No task is too small if it helps the team win.
- You are a people-person. You can write a gracious email to a donor, coach an intern with kindness, and collaborate with other departments without friction.
- You are hungry to learn. You view this role as a masterclass in political finance. You proactively ask questions and seek feedback to grow your skills.
You align with our core principles:
As an entry-level position, we’re focused on identifying potential, see below!
- Accountability & Solution-Oriented: You take full ownership of your actions and commitments, holding yourself to a high standard and seeing objectives through to completion. When challenges arise, you approach them with a problem-solving mindset, focusing on solutions rather than pointing fingers.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: You succeed by working as a team, stepping up to support teammates, and sharing knowledge freely. You actively break down silos by connecting across teams, inviting different perspectives, and staying open to new ideas to achieve shared goals.
- Growth & Adaptability: You are dedicated to continuous improvement and challenge yourself to learn and adapt. You proactively seek, offer, and act on feedback with openness and can anticipate potential obstacles to take proactive steps.
- Respect & Inclusion: You build strong relationships by treating everyone with kindness, dignity, and trust. You approach interactions assuming positive intent and have the courage to address difficult topics directly and honestly while showing care for others.
- Transparent Communication: You communicate openly and honestly to build trust and alignment. You are proactive in setting clear expectations, sharing the "why" behind decisions, and providing timely updates to ensure the right people have the information they need.
Job Responsibilities:
