Business Analyst / Technical Project Coordinator

We're seeking a Business Analyst / Technical Project Coordinator who can translate scientific needs into clear requirements, drive project delivery, and ensure our software solutions truly serve researchers at AstraZeneca.
In this role, you'll be the organizational backbone connecting our software engineering team, scientific users, and stakeholders across the organization. Working in close partnership with the Technical Lead, you'll gather and document requirements, coordinate project timelines, facilitate communication, manage priorities, and hold teams accountable to commitments. You'll ensure decisions are documented, expectations are aligned, and projects move from concept to successful delivery.
This isn't just about managing timelines—you'll actively shape how we build software for science. You'll influence prioritization decisions, ensure every feature addresses real user needs, drive adoption of solutions across the organization, and maintain the organizational clarity that enables a small, high-performing team to deliver impactful results.

What You Will Do
Requirements & Prioritization
- Gather requirements from scientists and stakeholders through interviews and workshops, translating needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Work with the Technical Lead and the development team to prioritize the product backlog, managing competing demands and aligning expectations across projects
- Document requirements and ensure alignment between user needs and technical feasibility
Project Coordination & Accountability
- Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and dependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Track progress, identify risks and blockers, and drive timely resolution with appropriate stakeholders
- Ensure team members and stakeholders remain accountable to commitments and deadlines
- Maintain project status reports and dashboards providing clear visibility for leadership
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the central communication hub between engineering team, scientific users, and organizational stakeholders at all levels
- Facilitate meetings, stand-ups, sprint reviews, and stakeholder updates across diverse audiences
- Manage expectations proactively, negotiating priorities and timelines when conflicts arise
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, gather feedback, and act as primary contact for user questions and feature requests
- Organize training sessions and create support materials to drive successful software adoption
- Monitor user satisfaction and adoption metrics, working with the team to address concerns
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Document decisions, agreements, and prioritization rationale, creating a clear audit trail
- Maintain project artifacts including specifications, meeting notes, and decision logs
- Create and maintain user-facing documentation, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and training materials
Process Facilitation
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and team processes, with potential to serve as Scrum Master
- Identify opportunities to improve team processes, communication flows, and delivery efficiency
- Support the Technical Lead in managing team capacity and workload balance
